St. Charles Sister Cities Exchange Programs

Student Exchange

The St. Charles Sister Cities student exchanges are a popular and fun way to grow, learn and expand minds beyond any classroom.  The Irish exchange happens every other school year.

Students from Scoil Mhuire School in Buncrana, Ireland visit St. Charles High in October of even years. The next exchange will be in October 2024.

Students from Carndonagh Community School in Carndonagh, Ireland visit St. Charles West in October of even years as well.  The two schools combine for an exciting and fun experience.

Host families are needed to host students from Ireland for 10-14 days.  Families provide a comfortable place for the exchange student to sleep and provide meals.  Students will attend school with your child.  On some days the exchange student will attend classes, while on other days, Sister Cities will provide a field trip for the exchange students.  These field trip allow the students to learn more about St. Charles and the St. Louis metro area.

Weekends is time for the host family to spend time with their exchange student.  This time may include shopping, a trip to Six Flags, the zoo or a sporting event.

Please consider being a host family and making a difference in the life of your child and a student from Ireland.  We need at least 10 families from St. Charles High and St. Charles West to open their home and the hearts to help make this big wide world a wee bit smaller.  Thank you for your consideration.
